Why Do I Need to Upload an Invoice for Customs Clearance?

Created by Toni Cooke, Modified on Fri, 4 Apr at 5:50 PM by Toni Cooke

All packages entering Jamaica go through Customs duty assessment. Import duties are based on the total value of the package, which includes:
Cost of the item(s)
Freight (shipping) charges
Insurance costs (if applicable)

Since Customs needs to verify the value of your package, you must upload a valid invoice as soon as possible.

How to Avoid Delays:

Upload a valid invoice immediately after your package ships.
✅ If an invoice is not uploaded within 5 days, Customs may apply duties based on the estimated market value of the item(s).
Once this happens, the charge can only be adjusted at Customs' discretion and in person.

Already uploaded your invoice? No worries! No further action is needed—just give us some time to process it. We'll update your package status as soon as there’s progress.
